LOCAL EXCURSIONS Here are just a few of the many to highlight: North Berwick Museum. Museum of Flight at East Fortune, 4 miles with regular flying exhibitions and the famous Concorde. Myreton Motor Museum at Luffness, near Aberlady, only a few miles of the town. The Scottish Seabird Centre, a unique visitor attraction just a short walk from Vale End. North Berwick Highland Games. Castle hunting - Tantallon and Dirleton Castles are close by. Visit Aberlady and Gullane. TRAVEL Road: 45 minutes by road to/from the centre of Edinburgh, or leisurely drives east and west on the East Lothian Coastal Trail, or inland into the wonderful East Lothian countryside and beyond. Air: Edinburgh's International Airport is readily accessible in about 45 minutes by road, via the fast dual carriageway City by-pass and A1 route, with a short single carriageway run to/from North Berwick itself; or transfer via bus and rail links from Edinburgh City Centre. Public services: the train station is only 10 minutes walk away with a frequent service to/from Edinburgh and a journey time of just over half an hour. The bus service runs frequently to/from the town centre to Edinburgh and other local destinations.
